This year’s symposium, themed “Fusion Frontiers in Vacuum Science,” once again brought together a dynamic mix of experts from various sectors. Held at the Fremont Marriott Silicon Valley, the event featured 55 exhibitors, including top companies, universities, and government labs. Our long-time distributor from Germany, Vacom, joined us this year, further solidifying international collaboration within our industry.
A highlight of the symposium is its highly active student poster session, which fosters the next generation of vacuum science professionals. To encourage and recognize outstanding contributions, awards are presented to the top three student posters, further emphasizing the event’s dedication to research and education.

About NCCAVS and AVS
The NCCAVS, the largest chapter of the AVS (supporting all of Northern California and Nevada with activities centered in the heart of Silicon Valley), plays a vital role in fostering collaboration among professionals in vacuum science and related fields. As an integral part of the AVS, NCCAVS actively organizes events, including the annual Symposium, to promote knowledge exchange and industry engagement.
AVS is a not-for-profit scientific association dedicated to providing services, disseminating information, and supporting the scientific community. As an interdisciplinary professional society, AVS facilitates networking among professionals across academia, industry, government, and consulting in disciplines such as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, engineering, business, and sales.
